Takecarebnb connects refugees with Dutch families that are willing to open up their homes for three months. When refugees receive a residence permit, they have been granted refugee status by the Dutch government and are allowed to stay in the Netherlands. They remain in an Asylum Seekers’ Centre (AZC) until they have been given permanent accommodation. Right now there are thousands of refugees waiting for a house.
These AZC's are not proper places to live in; there is not enough space for families, they are often located far away from cities and towns and there are hardly opportunities to develop any job skills, learn the Dutch language or have hobbies. That is why the work of Takecarebnb is so essential.
