Posted on 2 August 2022, for Netwerk Nieuwkomers Amsterdam

NNA x Martijn van der Pol (website)

The recently established Netwerk Nieuwkomers Amsterdam advocates a broader approach of integration for all newcomers in the city. That means investing in social connection and support in participating in society. Think of social and cultural activities and connection with the neighborhood and city, contact with services and authorities, meeting each other and feeling connected. Integration takes shape in all these settings, where newcomers gain experience with the Dutch language and culture. The Netwerk Nieuwkomers Amsterdam advocates that newcomers feel really welcome in Amsterdam and can count on appropriate support, not only when it comes to formal language education or finding paid work. Precisely the intended broader approach ensures that people are really included and fully participate in society, which serves their integration on all fronts. A sustainable, wide range is available for this in the city.

In recent years, many involved 'old Amsterdammers' and newcomers have met through diverse social initiatives, projects and companies in which they work together on integration.

A broad coalition of these Amsterdam integration organizations has been forming since the end of last year: the Netwerk Nieuwkomers Amsterdam. An open network, for all organizations that focus on integration of newcomers. To better meet the needs of new Amsterdammers together, to combine knowledge and experience, to collaborate smarter with the municipality, and also to be able to contribute to the goals of the Nieuwe Wet Inburgering.

The diversity of initiatives is great, and together they form, in addition to everything the local government organizes, a bed to find your way in the city. What binds the organizations is that they are there for and with newcomers, they provide tailor-made solutions, they are closely aligned with the environment of newcomers and they all work from a broad definition of integration. The involvement and commitment of volunteers plays a major role in this.

To provide a platform where they can share their work, the NNA is looking for a (frontend) website builder to create a website to showcase their work.

Can you help them with this?
